HESD UPDATE - Parents may checkout a student desk and chair for use by their child at home. If you are interested in checking out a desk and a chair please email superintendent@hesdk8.org with your child's name, student id number, and your contact phone number. A member of our staff will reach out to you to complete the necessary forms to checkout a desk. HESD UPDATE: HESD is seeking your input to complete the Learning Continuity and Attendance Plan. The Learning Continuity Plan is intended to balance the needs of all stakeholders, including educators, parents, students and community members. The Learning Continuity Plan describes the planning process already underway for the 2020–21 school year and includes descriptions of the following: addressing gaps in learning; stakeholder engagement; maintaining transparency; addressing the needs of unduplicated pupils, students with unique needs, and students experiencing homelessness; providing access to necessary devices and connectivity for distance learning; providing resources and supports to address student and staff mental health and social emotional well-being; and continuing to provide school meals for students. HESD UPDATE - Back to School Virtual event on Wednesday, Sept. 9th. TK-1st at 5:00 PM 2nd and 3rd at 6:00 PM.

The ASES program will start on Tuesday, September 8th. Email invites to join assigned Google Classrooms will be sent out to students before Sept. 8th. If you would like to sign your child up for ASES, registration is still open! Links are available in the Dogwood and Heber websites. El programa de ASES comenzará el 8 de septiembre. HESD Update - Meal Distribution Change. The USDA has allowed school districts to continue the meal distributions utilized this summer. This means that all individuals ages 0-18 are eligible to receive breakfast, lunch, and supper per USDA guidelines. Residents do not need a student identification number for pick up. Meals are distributed Tuesdays and Thursday’s from 6:30 to 9:30 am. For more information click link below: Actualización de HESD - Cambio de distribución de comidas. HESD UPDATE - In response to parent requests, we are offering a required meet and greet session for parents by grade level. The sessions will focus on providing parents an in-depth review of available resources available through distance learning as well as teacher expectations in daily instruction. These sessions are in addition to the Back to School Nights scheduled in Mid-September.
