Board Roles & Responsibilities

The Board of Trustees serves as the governing body of our district, working collaboratively to ensure educational excellence and fiscal responsibility. Our board members are elected community representatives who oversee policies, programs, and resources that support student success and district operations.

 

  • Policy Development and Oversight

    • Establish and regularly review district policies that guide operations, programs, and educational standards
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws and regulations
    • Monitor implementation of policies and their effectiveness

    Fiscal Management

    • Approve and oversee the district's annual budget
    • Monitor financial operations and ensure responsible stewardship of public funds
    • Review and approve significant expenditures and contracts
    • Ensure financial transparency and accountability to the community

    Educational Leadership

    • Set strategic goals and priorities for student achievement
    • Approve curriculum standards and educational programs
    • Monitor student performance and educational outcomes
    • Support initiatives that enhance teaching and learning

    Community Engagement

    • Represent community interests in educational decision-making
    • Foster partnerships with families, businesses, and community organizations
    • Hold regular public meetings to conduct district business transparently
    • Maintain open communication channels with stakeholders

    Administrative Oversight

    • Select and evaluate the District Superintendent
    • Approve staffing decisions and personnel policies
    • Ensure adequate facilities and resources for educational programs
    • Monitor district operations and performance metrics
